On May 8th, 2006 SkitterToys was honored with the award, Best Smart Toy and Product of Excellence by renowned toy and play expert, Dr. Toy. Dr. Toy's Guide, the world's first website to provide information on the best in toys and educational products, offers year-round, award-winning toy and children's product information plus timely articles, and useful resources. The award re-confirms the original awards the Skitter received from the "Top Toy” list in Today’s Parents (2003) and the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Award (2005)
As the years go along for the Skitter, the most valued award is that from Moms and Dads and the endless kids that constantly write to us about how the Skitter is their favorite and most used toy. That is the reason why we are in business and stand behind our product.
Another unspoken reward that we receive is that from the many children's hospitals, rehab and therapeutic centers that have used the toy as part of their therapy process. The stories have involved kids having fun while developing core muscle, upper body and balance on a safe toy with proper instruction and supervision. The other benefit comes from the kids having fun and developing confidence in themselves. Having worked as a Therapeutic Recreation specialist for years, these stories bring warmth to my heart.
