The Counterfeit  Story

The story begins with a trip overseas to search for products for another company.  During that visit a discovery was made in an engineer's cubicle.  The futuristic looking  ride on toy immediately drew your eyes.  But what is unique about this ride on toy?  The engineer excitedly started to explain by demonstrating on the ride on toy how it worked.  You did not have to push with your feet because your feet were on the toy.  The ride on toy moved by moving the steering handle back and forth.  Amazing was the response!

Will kids love this Toy?

The true test was with my four year old son.  A sample was brought back to the U.S. and given to the boy who already could ride a bike, skateboard and scooter.  Honestly, I was skeptical.  But after two hours of playing on the Skitter, my son was not done.  He loved how it operated, the fact that it could go backwards, circles, anyway he decided it went.  The smile said it all.

Retail toy store or online toy store?

Know that we were in this for the long haul, we went with establishing an Online store that we would only sell the Skitter.  We believe that this toy is going to be around for a long time and we wanted people to be able to find us.  In addition to the online toy store, we exhibited at events to demo the toy because we knew that people would not understand what was so special because a picture on SkitterToys did not explain why this toy is so wonderful.  During the demos something happened. 

What is this Cheap looking toy?

We immediately started getting approached by various toy dealers wanting to sell the toy.  We refused their offer because our mission is to have people that are truly interested in kids and have long term plans because we are in this for the long haul.  So the next month the other toy dealers arrived with toys that looked from a far like the Skitter but when examined and ridden, looked and performed poorly.  The results from the test were that they are a cheap knock-off and not safe!

Where can I buy the Original Skitter?

Right here on SkitterToys.com.  We have been around for over five years and will continue long after these others have left.  The counterfeits can be found at retail stores, Online toy stores, Ebay and other shopping websites usually for a lower cost because that is all they are worth.  We have many people call asking if they should buy this Skitter look a like off Ebay or other sites and we leave the decision up to them.  Are goal is to educate about the authentic Skitter and safe play.  We are parents and want the best for our children which means a safe, durable and sold by a company that is going to be around if I have questions.  SkitterToys offers that and more for our customers.

What about the Plasma Car?

Interesting story, but the bottom line, the Plasma Car is made from the same manufacturer that the Skitter is so the Upgraded wheels and parts are compatible.  The only difference is that the Plasma Car is imported from Canada.  That is why you pay more for the Plasma Car and the service is not the same as SkitterToys.   

Is this the End of the Counterfeit story?

It is for us.  We have witnessed over the years retail toy stores, online toy stores, Ebay sellers and at events, dealers come and go.  All claiming one thing or the other but the fact is that SkitterToys is here to stay and will be for a long time to come.
